Burwarton Show has been awarded runner-up in the 2015 Show Business Competition, narrowly missing out on the title, in what was an extremely close run contest.
The competition to find Britain’s best agricultural show, received a tremendous number of entries from across the UK and saw Burwarton fight off stiff competition from many highly regarded shows.
Michael Bradbury, chairman of the show said, “Burwarton is delighted to have been awarded runner-up in this year’s competition. We are extremely proud of our show and this accolade is really a testament to the hard work and dedication of the hundreds of volunteers on which the show relies upon.
“It is great to know that so many people from Shropshire and beyond feel as passionate about the show as we do, thank you to everyone that voted.”
Burwarton, which is considered by many to be the finest one day show in the country, has been running since 1891 and continues to go from strength to strength, with over 20,000 visitors through the gate last year.
“We have worked hard to adapt and evolve over the years in order to ensure a sustainable agricultural show that will continue for our future generations to enjoy. There really is something for everyone, with new attractions being added every year,” adds Mr Bradbury.
An online competition will be launched in July and three family members’ passes will be up for grabs. Follow @Burwarton_show on twitter for details on how to enter.
